Section 7
The university is established as a higher education institution for local development, enhancing the intellectual power of the nation, revitalizing learning, preserving local wisdom, and creating arts and sciences for the stable and sustainable progress of the people. It participates in the management, maintenance, and utilization of natural resources and the environment in a balanced and sustainable manner. Its objectives are:
To provide education and promote advanced academics and professions.
To conduct teaching and research.
To offer academic services to society.
To improve, transfer, and develop technology.
To preserve and promote arts and culture.
To train teachers and enhance the professional status of educators.
Section 8
To achieve the objectives specified in Section 7, the university is assigned the following responsibilities:
Pursue truth to achieve academic excellence based on local, Thai, and global wisdom.
Produce graduates with knowledge and moral integrity, a sense of Thai identity, and a connection to their local community, while promoting lifelong learning in the community to enable locals to adapt to changes. Graduate production must align in quantity and quality with the national education production plan.
Strengthen knowledge and understanding of the value, awareness, and pride in local and national culture.
Educate and empower community leaders, religious leaders, and local politicians to possess democratic awareness, morality, ethics, and the ability to manage and develop communities and local areas for the public good.
Strengthen the teaching profession by producing and developing teachers and educational personnel with the quality and standards appropriate for a high-level profession.
Foster collaboration and mutual support between universities, communities, local administrative organizations, and other entities both domestically and internationally for local development.
Study and seek ways to develop traditional and modern technologies suitable for the livelihood and occupations of local people, and to promote balanced and sustainable management, maintenance, and utilization of natural resources and the environment.
Conduct research, promote, and continue projects inspired by royal initiatives in performing the university’s mission for local development.
