Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University
Overview
The Faculty of Agricultural Technology was officially established in 1999. It comprises two main academic programs: Agricultural Science and Home Economics. Both programs share a strong interrelation and were combined to form the faculty to better serve the local community. Each program has a rich history, having developed skilled professionals who have contributed significantly to the region and brought pride to the community.
Key Milestones
1964: Sakon Nakhon Teacher Training School introduced the Home Economics Division under its Certificate in Teacher Education Program (Cert. Ed.). Similarly, the Agricultural Division was established with one instructor. By 1970, the school became Sakon Nakhon Teachers College.
1971: The college launched a Higher Teacher Certificate Program (Cert. Ed.) in Agriculture, the first of its kind in Thailand, which produced competent educators.
1986: Departments for Home Economics and Agriculture were established, offering diploma and bachelor’s degree programs.
1999: Following the Rajabhat Institute Act, the two departments were merged to create the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, responsible for offering diploma and bachelor’s degree programs in both fields.
2007: Nine programs were offered, including Agricultural Science, Plant Science, Animal Science, Aquaculture, General Home Economics, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Technology, Veterinary Technology, and Agribusiness Management.
2009: The faculty restructured into four main fields of study: Animal Science, Plant Science, Fisheries, and Food Technology, with specializations in Animal Production, Aquatic Technology, and Plant Production.
2010: The faculty moved to a new four-story building equipped with administrative offices, lecture halls, laboratories, and a library.

Programs Offered The faculty is dedicated to becoming a leading institution in agricultural education, research, and innovation. It offers six Bachelor of Science degree programs: Animal Science Food Science and Technology Plant Science Agribusiness Management Aquaculture Science Veterinary Technology The Faculty of Agricultural Technology strives to meet the challenges of the agricultural sector by fostering innovation, research, and community-based solutions while adhering to sustainable development principles.
