On October 21, 2024, the Coordination Center for the Royal Initiative Project at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University organized a conference to drive forward the initiatives on school botanical gardens and local resource centers for the fiscal year 2025. The event was presided over by Lt. Ruarung Khaibut, Deputy Governor of Sakon Nakhon Province, with Asistant Professor Dr. Somboon Chaochaikhong, Vice President and Director of the Coordination Center for the Royal Initiative Project at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, giving the opening report at Chamchuri Hall 1, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University.
This conference was organized in collaboration with two Coordination Centers of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus, and Nakhon Phanom. The goal was to foster a better understanding of the guidelines, significance, and role of participating in the Royal Initiative Project’s network for plant genetic conservation. Activities included special lectures, panel discussions, and an exhibition tour. A total of 439 organizations, including school botanical garden members, local resource center members, and non-member agencies, attended the conference both onsite and online.
